Remarks » Cottage built during off-season 1878-79; one of first 15 built in the Grove. Sallie (or Sarah) Kilgour was the first county resident to own a cottage though her stock is not recorded until 1886. Former alley between Lots 7 and 10 was known as Kilgour Alley. In 1932, Hallan was a Special Correspondent at the District National Bank Bldg, DC. Remodeled in 1966 when it was first used for year-round living–stairway relocated, fireplace replaced with exterior doors opening onto porch, first floor bedroom added, second story finished, second bathroom added. Dining room & two-car garage added in 1968. Living room enlarged & den added in 1976.
