Casey 6 and 7 Preliminary Plan

Town reps met with the developer, EYA, to discuss: 1) minimizing noise impacts of a new entrance to Robert’s Oxygen from Crabbs Branch Way by locating it far enough from Town residences and by appropriate design, 2) keeping the new Crabbs Branch Way-Amity Dr. connection as far from the Town as possible, and 3) maintaining and planning for visual screening between the developed property and the Town.

Piedmont Crossing Phase I Site Plan

A new tentative date, September 20th, for review before the Planning Board has been floated. We toured the site with review coordinator Robert Kronenberg of Park and Planning and discussed ongoing issues for the site plan: buffer character and landscaping along Ridge Rd., retention of mature trees, adequate wetlands recharge, damage to the wildlife corridor, the potential for well water disruption, excess unit density.

Building Permits

If you are going to erect a building or structure (including fences), make structural alterations to, or move any existing building or other structure, you must first obtain a building permit from the Washington Grove Planning Commission. The Town zoning ordinance governs setbacks, lot coverage and height. Applications are available at the Town Office at 301-926-2256. The permit fee is $10.00, payable to the Town of Washington Grove. Interior renovations, which involve electrical, plumbing, or load-bearing changes, generally require a County permit. A shed requires a County permit as well. The Town must first sign off all applications for County-required building permits. The Historic Preservation Commission will review most permits as well.
