21 December 2004 | Approved: 18 January 2004

HPC members present: Bob Booher, Chair, Chris Kirtz, and Bruce Rothrock. Also in attendance, David Stopak as liaison to the Town Council.

The December, 2004 meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission began at 7:30 p.m. with the approval of the agenda. The Chair asked Chris Kirtz to take minutes.

Public Review Session

The Commission looked at applications for fences for two Ridge Road properties and elected not to review them pursuant to its June 17, 2003 memo excluding fences as items of HPC review interest. The plans for those properties along with a copy of the June 17, 2003 memo were left for the Town Clerk.

Public Work Session

The Commission approved the November minutes with minor agreed upon edits.

Other Business

The Commission looked at some revised Building Application forms proposed by The WG Planning Commission and agreed to review them at their upcoming meeting.

The Commission discussed the importance of getting copies of other jurisdictions’ Archival use protocols which it could review for adaptation and adoption here. Chris Kirtz agreed to contact Mary Challstrom to see if she or Missy Yachup had been successful in obtaining copies yet.

The Commission asked Chris Kirtz to contact Tom Appleby to see if he would make available to the HPC all information he has on the structure he is in the process of dismantling and rebuilding.

The Commission also discussed the importance of having a standard Bulletin notice encouraging early HPC consultation and also listing items reviewed at the last HPC meeting and those slated for review at its next meeting. Chris Kirtz agreed to develop language for a bulletin notice containing this information and for establishing a routine procedure with the Town Clerk to ensure future Bulletins contained such notices.

The next meeting was scheduled for January 18, 2005.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:01 p.m.
