10 May 2017
Attendees: Georgette Cole, Chair; Audrey Maskery, Deborah Mehlferber, and Cynthia Werts
On Arbor Day, Saturday April 29, Georgette, Ernie Kawasaki, Audrey, Deborah, and Cynthia and Steve Werts worked in Morgan Park. Three new hellebores were installed next to the Town entrance sign and extensive pruning was done in the wooded area of Morgan Park between Grove Road and Chestnut Road. We decided the azaleas and rhododendrons in the front bed will be protected by Liquid Fence rather than physical fencing for a better appearance in this entry area to the Town.
Two pink dogwoods and two chokecherry bushes were installed by Stadler Nursery on May 6 at various locations in Morgan Park and Woodward Park. They were supervised by Georgette and Audrey. Ace Tree Service installed a large American Beech tree in Woodward Park next to Grove Road. This went in by tree spade on May 10.
Discussion of the Elm Research Institute was tabled until a later date.
Now going to summer hiatus. Next meeting August 9.
Adjourn 8:30 pm.
