Dear WG neighbors,

In response to the COVID19 pandemic precautionary measures established by Governor Hogan and Mayor Compton, the Woods Committee is reorganizing our West Woods group clean-up event originally scheduled on April 25th to a list of individual activities over the next few weeks.

We ask you to help us celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day by having individual town residents and families participate on their own schedules to pull garlic mustard in the West Woods between Washington Grove Lane and Maple Lake, pick up trash near our borders with Kelley Park and Town Crest, and clear out overgrowth around Whetstone Spring in the West Woods.

Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy work boots, and use protective work gloves. Be mindful of social distancing and use of face masks as appropriate.

We would appreciate if you would let Joan Mahaffey and Pat Klein (WC co-chairs) know when you have completed one of these activities so we can recognize your wonderful volunteer contribution to our woods! Please text/call Joan at 301-641-2452 or Patty at 301-509-2038 if you have any questions.

Thank you all and please be safe and healthy!

Patty and Joan
