Remarks » Used as a guest house by Mrs. Murphy who lived at 8 The Circle. The cottage was named by the McArthurs for Thendara, NY. House in delapidated condition under Lear and Brooks ownership (walls not enclosed 1953, no floor on porch 1954). Assessment records indicate house vacant and in poor condition as of 1968; “only shell standing” 1974 and 1977. Shown as vacant in 1960 Town Directory. Lear lived at 3299 M Street NW in 1946.
