Town Volunteer Historic Sign Restoration Project: Video and Preservation Award!

Have you seen the video yet?? If you are not on the Listserv, or were simply overwhelmed in post-holiday early January, you may have missed the buzz about the wonderful six-minute video produced by Montgomery Municipal Cable (MMC) about the Town’s volunteer historic wood street sign restoration project. Here’s a link that will remind you what a team of willing volunteers, working with inspired and energetic leaders, can do!

(Note: This is the “full-length” version, not to be confused with the 2-minute “trailer” released in December 2019.)

Preservation Award!
Montgomery Preservation, Inc. has just informed us that the Town’s volunteer project to restore our historic wood street signs will indeed receive a 2019 Montgomery County Preservation Award—this by the unanimous agreement of their panel of judges and their Board of Directors! Judges came to Town mid-January for a firsthand examination of the restoration work.

The awards event is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at Grace United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg. Anyone interested in attending the event, which will include a tour of the historic Grace Church, should contact the Town Office or any HPC member.
