In Case You’ve Forgotten.

The Agenda for the monthly meeting of the Town Council is always posted on the Friday before the meeting in 2 places; in the Post Office on the bulletin board to the left as you walk in the front door and on the door of the Town Office.

Casey Field.

The time is NOW! Well, actually, the time is September 9th. Please mark your calendars. The development plan for the Casey field is up for review by the Planning Board on Sept. 9th at their offices in Silver Spring. The Mayor and Council are urging residents to attend this meeting. A large turnout to voice our concerns (i.e. the density, the tree line, storm water management & houses on the field) could make a difference! The Town has requested an evening meeting but please call Shelley Winkler (301-330-6446) or the Town Office (301-926-2256) a few days ahead to verify the time. Betsy Klinger will be coordinating carpools. Please call her at 301-977-3517 if you can help drive or if you would like to ride with someone. There is strength in numbers so let’s make a huge showing!

A Pro-Active Call to Action

Mayor Compton is looking for volunteers to help represent the Town’s interest in the proposed re-build/re-alignment of the Deer Park Bridge over the CSX railroad. Please call John at 301-330-8264 or the Town Office at 301-926-2256 if you can join this group.

New STOP Sign Considered

The Mayor and Council are considering making the intersection of Ridge Road and Brown Street and 4-way stop and would like your feedback on the idea. Good idea? Bad idea? Call the Town Office 301-926-2256 or John Tomlin 301-869-5854 with your comments. Thanks!

Building Permits:

If you are going to erect a building or structure (including fences), make structural alterations to, or move any existing building or other structure, you must first obtain a building permit from the Washington Grove Planning Commission. The Town zoning ordinance governs setbacks, lot coverage and height. Applications are available at the Town Office at 301-926-2256. The permit fee is $10.00, payable to the Town of Washington Grove. Interior renovations, which involve electrical, plumbing, or load-bearing changes, generally require a County permit. A shed requires a County permit as well. The Town must first sign off all applications for County-required building permits. The Historic Preservation Commission will review most permits as well.

Building Permits were issued for the following:
