Remarks » Present cottage is located on Lot 4. First owned and occupied by E F Simpson, it was the second or third cottage built in the Grove. Porch on Southeast enclosed with glass in 1911. House converted to year-round home by Wares. Single-car garage was connected to house to form an additional bedroom. Former cottage on Lot 3, owned by Major Thomas P Morgan, believed to have been moved to 112 Grove Avenue in late 1880s. Wares lived at 1448 G Street NW in 1946. C. Carroll Ware d. 25 September 1969. Jean Rauch married Robert M. Littrell. 1995 addition.
