HPC members present: Bob Booher, Chair, Mimi Styles, Ed Mroczka, and David Neumann. The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:42 p.m. The agenda proposed by the Chairman was adopted after a few changes by members. David Neumann agreed to take minutes for the meeting. The draft minutes of the regular meeting of January 16 were approved subject to changes requested by members.
Reviews
The members reviewed plans
- submitted by Georgette Cole and Ernest Kawasaki for 217 Ridge Road. This was for a sun room, open deck and access ramp in the rear of the house.
- submitted by Joe Clark and architect Ralph Hurst for 402 Grove Avenue. The plans were to enclose a portion of the side and front porch for a bedroom.
Town Council Report
There was no report given. Members discussed various ways that there could be better notification that a building permit has been applied for to Town residents, especially to residents and owners in the vicinity of a structure to be built or renovated. Georgette Cole from the Town Council, who was attending the meeting because she was submitting a building permit herself, suggested that a notice be posted on the house. Another suggestion was that the applicant should contact his neighbors via a form letter or that the Town should send form notices to the neighbors. David Stopak said he would discuss this with the Town Council.
Other Business
It was decided to meet on the 6th or 8th of March to complete the placement of house photos in the albums. Mimi Styles suggested that she would contact us all when to meet for pizza and photos.
Bob Booher reported that he had talked to the Mayor about the appointment of a new commissioner. The appointment of a new member to the HPC by the Mayor is in progress
We discussed the placement of the commemorative plaque at the front of the Town as suggested by Dr. Horan.
Suggestions by David Stopak and Bob Booher as well as some from Sheldon Bierman for sections 8.4 and 8.6 of the Master Plan were discussed.
The posting of the house histories on the Town Web site was also discussed. The scheme envisioned last month whereby Mimi and Bill Saar would work together to process any information owners or occupants wanted to add to the House histories was reaffirmed.
Bob Booher also discussed The Cator Property briefly and Speed Calming proposals by Ann Briggs and Charlie Negin. There was discussion of “sleeping policemen,” and a walkway cross road.
The next meeting will be on Tues. March 20, 2007 at 7:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
