1 March 2011 | Approved: 15 March 2011

Present Bob Booher, Mimi Styles, Margot Bohan, and David Neumann. The meeting began at 7:45 p.m. David Neumann took minutes. This meeting was instead of the regular meeting for February.

Approval of Agenda and Adoption of Minutes

The proposed agenda was modified and then adopted unanimously. Minutes of the January 18, 2011 regular meeting of the HPC were approved subject to a few changes. They will be filed in the Town office and submitted to Bill Saar to be added to the Town Web Site.

Windows Workshop

Members discussed the Workshop on Windows. (a) Budget – Mary Challstrom had said that there were funds available in the current budget that could be used for the Windows Workshop. We will need to put an item in the proposed HPC budget for next year FY1-12. We believe $2,000 will be enough for a seminar and a workshop. (b) discussed the registration fee. It was decided that a fee of $25.00 would be appropriate. It was agreed that the workshop should not be entirely free and paid entirely from Town funds. The maximum number of persons that can register will be 30. Not all members of the HPC will be able to be present at the workshop. The Workshop will be 9 am to 1 pm on May 7, 2011.

Archivist

The Town will need a new archivist. The current paid archivist will not return to the job, and the current volunteer substitute does not have sufficient time any longer. Therefore it is recommended that the proposed budget have funds set aside for someone to work 3 to 5 hours a week to do filing and entering data in the Town’s Past Perfect computer database system. The goal is to eventually put the archive database with photos and documents online. The files are now all set up and in place on shelves in the archive. A working system of maintaining the files is also in place.

Draft of Letter to Town on the Proposed Anti-Mansionization Ordinance

The chair of the HPC, Bob Booher, drafted a letter to the Town to explain the PC/HPC proposed Ordinance. He sent it to the HPC members. The letter was edited by the members present. Bob will send it to the PC for further editing and review before it is sent to the Town residents. The proposed ordinance will go before a special Town Meeting on March 24. Bob Booher will assist in drafting and editing the power point presentation. Unfortunately he will not be able to be there for the presentation.

Rules of Procedure

Embers edited the Section on Demolition in the HPC Rules of Procedure.

Welcoming new residents

As stated in the previous minutes, we have decided to welcome new residents independently from the Woman’s Club. Mimi Styles asked that her name be added to the list of people informed by the Town Office when new residents move into the Grove.

Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 pm. The next regular HPC meeting will be Tuesday, March 15, 2010 at 7:30pm in the McCathran Hall meeting room.

The meeting was adjourned at 10 p.m.
