17 June 2008 | Approved: 15 July 2008

HPC members present: Bob Booher, Chair, Mimi Styles, Margot Bohan, Ed Mroczka, and Joe Clark (Liaison to Town Council). Thomas Appleby (112 Chestnut Avenue owner) was also in attendance. David Neumann was unable to attend. Margot agreed to take minutes for the meeting. The meeting was officially called to order at 7:35pm by the Chair.

Members decided to push off the review of draft minutes from our May meeting until our July 2008 meeting. Ed motioned to adopt this approach; Margot seconded the motion.

The agenda, proposed by the Chair and posted on the outside of the door to the Town Hall Meeting Room, was adopted after several minor adjustments by members.

Review of Projects

Thomas Appleby came to the meeting to present final building plans for 112 Chestnut Avenue and to request a formal HPC review. Mimi agreed to conduct a formal HPC review.

Council Report

Joe stated that nothing of direct relevance to HPC was raised at the recent council meetings. However, Joe mentioned that a town subcommittee is being re-established to be responsive to renewed discussions re: transportation on and around the humpback bridge.

Commemorative Plaques

Logistical discussions re: the plaque dedication/unveiling ceremony continued from our last HPC meeting. We refined the plan for the unveiling and identified leads and points of contact for various aspects of the ceremony. Bob agreed to call the Gazette about this event, and Ed agreed to invite Mr. Boudreau to the ceremony and to speak with Alton Ghrist re recording the event and supplying speakers, etc.

MD Historic District Commission Representative Visit

Bob agreed to reconnect with the point of contact from the Maryland Historic District Commission to arrange for a meeting in the near future.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 p.m.
