Georgette Cole (substituting for Chairman Evans) called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Commissioners Samantha Beres, Eric Gleason, Jane Seegal and Steve Werts. Also in attendance were residents Christine Dibble (313 Brown St.) and John Tomlin (358 Ridge Rd.).
Approval of Minutes
Eric Gleason moved to approve the June minutes. Steve Werts seconded the motion. Approved: 5-0.
Building Permits
- 115 Washington Grove Lane: Eric Gleason reviewed the permit application for a fence on this property. There was a brief discussion about confusing language in the fence ordinance. Eric Gleason moved to approve this permit application per Article VII, Section 3.328 (Fences) of the Town code. Georgette Cole seconded the motion. Approved: 5-0.
- 313 Brown St: The Planning Commission was charged by the Mayor with the review of a re-submission of plans for this property. The plans submitted to the Town by architect Ralph Hurst were different from the plans submitted to Montgomery County. The Town now has plans that reflect the change made by Mr. Hurst. Georgette Cole moved to approve the plans as re-submitted per Article VII, Section 9 (Schedule of Standards). Eric Gleason seconded the motion. Approved: 5-0.
- 358 Ridge Road: The HPC completed the review for this application. The Planning Commission formally approved this permit application at the June meeting, pending the HPC review.
Update on Mansionization Process
Georgette Cole reported that the last PC/HPC meeting produced two (2) sub-groups; FAR and Trigger. Both groups will use the same homes to apply FAR principles and Trigger principles and compare the results. A discussion about gross living area, actual square footage, minimum lot size and policy ensued.
GPS Corner Marker Project
The Planning Commission thinks that the project proposed by Charlie Challstrom is a good idea.
Report from the Town Council
Georgette Cole presented a written report (Exhibit A), via e-mail, to the Commissioners. There was a brief mention of the CSX meeting scheduled for July 13th at 7:00PM.
Other Business
Jane Seegal reported that she was still working on her propane tank research but has run in to a few snags.
