NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Proposed Zoning Text Amendment to Permit
Placing Conditions on Zoning or Rezoning
Date: Monday, February 7, 2000
Place: McCathran Hall Council Room
Time: 7:30 p.m.
The Town Council will take public comment regarding a proposal initiated by the Town’s
Planning Commission to amend Section 13 of the Washington Grove Zoning Ordinance to afford
the Town Council, upon the zoning or rezoning of property, the opportunity to adopt such
additional restrictions, conditions or limitations deemed appropriate to preserve, improve or
protect the general character of the Town. For example, this ordinance would permit the Town
to require visual variety in a new housing development as a condition of zoning or rezoning.
Copies of the proposed amendment are available at the Town Office.

encourage residents to report burnt-out street lights directly to PEPCO (instructions are on the

allow at least 10 days for review by the Commission. Call John McClelland at 301-963-3328 if
