Building Permits

The Town zoning ordinance governs setbacks, lot coverage and height. Applications are available at the Town Office at 301-926-2256. The permit fee is $10.00, payable to the Town of Washington Grove. Beware of Phone Scams

A company calling itself “The National Verification Bureau” has been calling people and asking for verification of banking information. Don’t let the fact that they actually give you a call back number fool you. The “800” number that they give is a car dealership in Texas. DO NOT give your banking information to these people!

Music Together Classes in Town

The Recreation Committee will sponsor music classes for children ages 0-5 years old. The classes will be held on Tuesday mornings 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. for 10 weeks. Grove residents will get early enrollment and reduced tuition at $121.00. Twins go for the price of one child! Siblings under 8 months are free. Siblings over 8 months will get a reduced price. The cost includes a professionally produced CD and cassette, a corresponding illustrated songbook, and parent education materials and events.

Terri Winkler teaches “Music Together” (www.musictogether.com), a program for kids aged 0-5 years based on the premise that all children are musical and have the same innate ability to learn music as language. Music Together believes that music ability is as much a basic life skill as walking and talking and that all children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with pleasure and confidence in the music of their culture.

The program nurtures a child’s natural enthusiasm for music and movement as we sing, dance, chant, and play instruments in an informal setting that will enrich their musical environment and guide them toward a lifetime of music making enjoyment. Please contact Sarinah Kalb ASAP at 301-330-9359 or [email protected] if you would like enrollment information or have questions.

Clerk’s Corner

Did you know that one ton of paper made from recycled newspaper saves enough energy to power a TV for 31 hours?

Did you know that it is STILL illegal to make right turns from McCauley St. on to Washington Grove Lane & left turns from WG Lane on to McCauley St., even for Grove residents?
