Planning Commission
The Washington Grove Planning Commission (PC) meets the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm. The PC reviews all applications for permits to construct, install or alter:
- building exteriors, including porches;
- driveways and other residential aprons;
- walkways;
- swimming pools;
- fences;
- decks; and
- construction dumpsters, porta-potties or moving pods.
Note that the following structures do not require a building permit:
- trellises seven feet or less in height;
- clotheslines;
- patios; and
- pergolas under 10 feet in height.
A project that is only inside to an existing building will need permits from the Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services, but not a Town permit.
The PC also manages the development of the Town’s Comprehensive Plans. View the members of the Planning Commission, 2009 to the present (PDF).
